English Language Teacher (part-time)

Department: Turkmenistan - Youth Development Activity (YDA)
Location: Ashgabat, Ashgabat City

The QED Group, LLC implements an English language program in Turkmenistan that includes trainings for English teachers, updating the existing curricula, and a series of English language courses. The company will hire English language teachers who will conduct English language courses for working adults in accordance with the Scope of Work below. These are part-time positions, and the majority of courses will take place in the late afternoons and/or evenings.

Scope of work:

  • Planning and preparing lesson plans that are in line with the curriculum goals.
  • Preparing instructional aids and supplemental teaching materials and resources according to the learning objectives and student needs.
  • Tracking and monitoring students’ progress using various techniques.
  • Preparing and administering curriculum-aligned assessments.
  • Implementing new language teaching methods.
  • Designing and implementing interactive educational activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in a related field, with at least five years of related professional experience, or an advanced degree with at least three years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and work under pressure, dealing with competing priorities, in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and talent for productively interacting with a wide range of students.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Fluency in Turkmen or Russian is required.
  • Fluency in the above-mentioned three languages is an advantage.
