Position Summary:

Q2IMPACT is seeking a vigilant and experienced Part-Time Security Lead to oversee and support the safety and security of staff, assets, and operations in Amman, Jordan. This role is critical to ensuring that security protocols are in place, regularly updated, and effectively implemented. The incumbent will work closely with field teams and headquarters to assess risks, respond to incidents, and maintain a secure working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Oversight & Risk Management

  • Monitor and assess local security conditions and provide regular updates to project leadership.

  • Develop, implement, and update security protocols and emergency response procedures.

  • Conduct risk assessments for office operations, staff travel, and field activities.

  • Coordinate with local authorities, security providers, and other stakeholders to ensure situational awareness.

  • Advise staff on security precautions and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.

  • Respond to security incidents and coordinate appropriate actions and reporting.

  • Maintain security equipment and ensure readiness of emergency supplies.

Training & Awareness

  • Conduct periodic security briefings and training sessions for staff.

  • Support onboarding of new staff with security orientation.

  • Promote a culture of safety and preparedness across the team

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of security incidents, risk assessments, and mitigation measures.

  • Prepare and submit security reports to Q2IMPACT headquarters as required.

  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive security information.

Education, Qualifications & Skills:

  • Jordanian citizen preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Risk Management, International Relations, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in security operations, risk assessment, and emergency response, preferably within international development or humanitarian projects in the Middle East.

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.

  • Prior experience supporting USAID or other donor-funded projects is highly desirable.

  • Experience working on a USAID TPM project is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement security protocols and manage crisis situations.

  • Strong understanding of local security dynamics and coordination with law enforcement and emergency services.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic.

  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills under pressure.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with security monitoring tools and technologies.
